Blocks
Blocks is a series of works created starting from very rudimentary shapes, composed of rectangles and squares aligned in a sequence not dissimilar to those we see in buildings in large cities.
The technique used ranges from drawing to painting, passing through collage on paper or canvas. In the case of the canvases I used black acrylic quickly spread on the surface in order to make it flat and opaque. The next sequence of rectangles and squares that form the Blocks, on the contrary, is material and harsh due to the fact that I used sand together with other waste material.
For the drawings on paper I used pure black pigment in its infinite shades.
It is a nucleus of works in which the rigor of the forms, not deduced from the black color used, takes on the connotations of an abstract and ancestral minimalism in its primary form, but very contemporary in the poetics that enclose it.
