For Leonardo Da Vinci
The Lady, it is a work of mine from 2002 which had a long and troubled gestation. The initial idea, which was to pay homage to the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci and his famous painting The Lady with an Ermine, in the end it turned into a real adventure with lots of twists and turns like we read in detective books. In fact, after dedicating myself for a few years to completing the work, I also felt the urgent need to tell the story of this painting, from its beginning to the end.
The autobiographical story unfolds between my studio in Rome and the city of Krakow and has the title Portrait in an Interior. I thought it would be appropriate to include it in this section of the site to make it clear and therefore make sense of the juxtaposition of my work The Lady with the other five accompanying drawings entitled I Love You (for a teaching of love).
